Once you have found a pet friendly landlord the next step is to persuade them to accept your pet.
If your dog is already highly trained and has no behaviour issues then this should not be a problem, it would help even more if you could provide a glowing report about your dogs good behaviour, get a report from your vet or other professional body.
If you dog does have some behavioural problems, for instance
- scratching at doors
- barking when you go out
- barking when you let them into the garden
- jumping on furniture when not invited
- stealing food from cupboards
or similar problems.
If your dog has bevavioural problems then a landlord is less likely to accept your pet, however most problems can easily be resolved with a good training book, correction methods and positive reward training.
Most dog issues can be resolved quite easliy over a short period of time.
