Allow the dog to focus entirely on you and the training. You can mention his/her name just before giving a reward which will allow the dog to start associating his name with a good encounter of getting the reward. Each time you mention the name, it will have the same impact just like giving the reward. You can then replace the name with say sounds that refer to a certain action.
