Pressure has a very calming effect on the nervous system. It works for both animals and humans. When veterinarians give a cow a shot they use pressure first to relax the cow. Children with behavioral problems can be helped to relax and focus by wearing a weighted vest. A newborn infant can be consoled by being swaddled by their parents. Since these are well known facts, it stands to reason that the gentle pressure of a cozy wrap can be used to calm canines too.
Maybe your dogs aren't bothered by loud noises. Possibly they might have other problems such as extreme excitability, hyperactivity with strangers, or not wanting to walk with a leash.Some others do not like to travel or to be put in a crate. Then there are those little ones that just love to bark unceasingly or nip at the backs of your legs.
Now Thunder Shirts are becoming increasingly more popular as a treatment for lots of dog problems. You just put it on your dogs and observe the results without any training.
Before trying Thunder Shirts for the first time try giving your dogs small amounts of food using the shirts as "plates". This makes dogs comfortable and trusting of something that "brings" them food.
Since Thunder Shirts provide gentle, constant pressure on dogs this has a great calming effect on them.
